You may have heard the saying, ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’, at PHOTOboat we do our utmost to be the master of our trade. The PHOTOboat photographer, James, concentrates entirely on capturing the best possible images, whether on the quayside or on the water. The boat handling is left in Patrick’s capable hands. It is his job to get PHOTOboat’s 6.8m Ribcraft, powered by a 200hp Evinrude e-tec outboard, into the action, whatever the conditions. James, armed with his camera and Patrick at the wheel of the PHOTOboat Rib, make a formidable team. James draws on fifteen years of classic photographic experience. He began by processing his own black and white film. During an intensive year of photography, he sailed around the world as a crew member on the winning Bristol Clipper in the Times Clipper 2000 yacht race. He now utilises the rapidly developing digital technologies. Patrick has messed about in boats all his life and has over a decade of experience in handling fast Ribs. He has RYA powerboat handling qualifications.
